Armenian Catholicos to attend enthronement of new Pope
Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II is to leave for the Vatican today evening to attend the official enthronement of Pope Francis.
Top-level delegations from 180 countries will attend the enthronement of Pope Francis scheduled to take place on March 19.
Karekin II will be accompanied by Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, the Director of the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin; Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, the Manager of the Interchurch Relations Office of the Mother See; and Father Anania Tsaturyan, the scepter holder of the Catholicos, reports the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Serzh Sargsyan also leaves for the Vatican today to participate in the enthronement ceremony, reports, the RA President's Press Service.
