Armenian writer and publicist Violet Grigoryan today joined Raffi Hovannisian who is staging hunger strike in Yerevan's Freedom Square in protest against the ‘rigged' presidential election.

As a representative of the literary world and an Armenian woman she addressed a call to her compatriots on her Facebook account.

"Tomorrow, I will start a one-day hunger strike and sit beside Raffi. Anyone joining me?" she wrote.
Though many people have expressed readiness to join the move, no one has showed up yet.
Violet Grigoryan says her struggle is personified as she sees only Raffi Hovannisian as the country's president.

"I can imagine how rich Raffi Hovannisian is in his mental world that he can continue the hunger strike for days. I have been sitting here since morning and I can no longer resist hunger," she said.

"Only one day, no more. One day is enough, you do not have to stay here more," Raffi Hovannisian said approaching the writer.

Writer and publicist Ruben Hovsepyan, Chairman of the Freedom party Hrant Bagratyan visited Raffi Hovannisian earlier in the day to voice their support for his post-election rallies.

A group of citizens have started collection of signatures in the square to express their support and confidence for the rightful president [Raffi Hovannisian].
