Yerevan residents do not really care
After nearly two months Yerevan will again elect new municipality, which will elect the city's mayor.
Election day, although is known, that is May 5, but as the surveys showed that Yerevan residents do not really care.
Till the constitutional changes of 2005 in the Republic of Armenia there were not held municipal elections in the principle of political parties. Municipal candidates were individuals. President of the Communities Union Emin Eritsyan consideres a real progress the existing procedure:
"It's very good, since the parties have taken responsibility for the activities of local self-government bodies".
President of the Communities Union is confident that people will actively participate in the municipal elections, especially in the sections where the competition will be great
Meanwhile the parties still have to submit a list. Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Rule of Law (OEK) parties have already confirmed their lists and said who will be leading the lists. Other parties are still thinking.
