Armen Ashotyan's open letter to Shushan Petrosyan:

Dear Shushan,

Do not be surprised with my letter. Epistolary genre is flourishing in Armenia in the form of sending letters.

I'm creating another precedent writing to my party member and my friend and let everybody read my letter.

Dear Shushan during the last days I have witnessed so much criticizing against you.Different types of workers are trying to speculate on some of your statements or make fun of them.

I confess Shushan, you are a singer and a friend to me, as well as party member.
You are often direct and straightforward but at the same time naïve.
Politics and the media, unfortunately, are not accustomed to such images.

Shush jan, be strong: we have all passed through that way, this is also for a political activist. You are honest, strong and steadfast like every man who has light in heart.

Shushan, you are infinitely loved, your song is loved by our Armenian soldier and in the firmness and stability of our frontiers you have also your modest yet very important contribution.

Everything else, Shushan, is passing by.

Lots of hugs and kisses.
With best regards and wishes,

Your friend Armen.

P.S. Taking advantage of this opportunity I want to remind you that our mutual promise remained unfulfilled. I hope we will have the opportunity to work together in the near future in the music studio. Do you remember? I promised you a song.
