Raffi Hovannisian files petition to CC
Representatives of Heritage party leader, presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian today filed a petition to the Constitutional Court demanding to invalidate the results of the February 18 presidential election.
In the meanwhile a group of police officers led by Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valeri Ospilyan banned six activists from approaching the CC building, saying they would interfere with the work of the Court.
Journalists and policemen are standing outside the CC waiting for Heritage representatives.
In the petition the official runner-up [Raffi Hovannisian] also demands that the Constitutional Court declare the official results of the Feb. 18 ballot released by the Central Election Commission on Feb. 25 as null and void.
Hovsep Khurshudyan, Spokesman for Hovannisian's campaign headquarters and his advisors are expected to give an open-air press conference in front of the court building.
