Leader of the opposition Heritage party, presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian is going to dispute the official results of the Feb. 18 presidential election in the Constitutional Court, Hovannisian's representative in the Central Election Commission, Armen Martirosyan, said on Feb. 27.

"Mr Hovannisian is smoothly going ahead, he is going to unseat the authorities. To this end, he is ready to meet Serzh Sargsyan again to discuss post-election developments with him," said Armen Martirosyan.

Talking to reporters, the Heritage representative said their supporters are intimidated; moreover, Raffi Hovannisian and his teammates were not given hotel rooms in the city of Meghri.

"Thanks to the efforts of our authorities no one will want to continue his work in Armenia; law enforcers will not want to disclose crimes and businessmen will not do business here," he added.

Mr Martirosyan also welcomed students' strike over ‘rigged' elections, comparing it with that of 1988. "The Soviet power proved to be more democratic than the acting regime in Armenia who are closing gates of universities to prevent students from joining the protesters."
