Raffi Hovannisian is like Don Quixote
Sociologist Aharon Adibekyan started conducting surveys from September 2012 to February 2013 , which showed that Serzh Sargsyan would win in the presidential elections. Mr. Adibekyan defines that it was won the order of the Republican Party of Armenia only for January. Before the elections the surveys conducted by Aharon Adibekyan showed that Serzh Sargsyan will gain 58.5% of the votes and Raffi Hovannisian 37.2%.
"Maybe Raffi Hovannisian has had a dream that he will be elected a president and he hopes that it can become true, but the reality is that he has been frustrated and disappointed ",-the sociologist thinks.
Aharon Adibekyan is convinced that that Raffi Hovannisian is not able to change the regime, since the people do not want.
"60% of people are taking part in the elections. 30% of them is conservative and does not like changes and innovations. The other 30% is divided into two parts, one part is in favor of radical changes, and the other is in favor of moderate ways. Our nation is not revolutionary",- said Aharon Adibekyan.
The sociologist compares Raffi Hovannisian with Don Quixote who wants to protect freedom and legitimacy of the people. "Raffi Hovannisian has entered into the role and is afraid to come out of it."
Aharon Adebekyane thinks that still today the opposition is not united around Raffi Hovannisian and Nicole Pashinyan and ARF came to "Freedom" square for justice. The sociologist excludes the repetition of 1996's situation, when the elected president resigned a year later.
"In 1990 Levon Ter-Petrosyan defeated, but the president of this stage has not defeated, and he has such self-respect that in the case of being defeated he would not pretend that he is the winner",- says Aaron Adibekyan.
Aharon Adibekyan says that Raffi Hovannisian has no right to disappoint the people and lead them to a deadlock. The sociologist thinks that his best move would be to recognize the elections' results.
