HAK will become a powerful Opposition force
During today's special congress the former chairman of the National Assembly Babken Ararktsyan made a suggestion that PANM reflected attitudes towards the February 18 elections. In the congress the proposal was unanimously accepted and the first one who voted in favor was the first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
The former chairman of the National Assembly Babken Ararktsyan referring to the question whether "Pan-Armenian National Movement" (PANM) party will join the initiative of the creation of the political party and will be renamed "Armenian National Congress", raised a question-what disturbed to make the reforms inside the "Pan-Armenian National Movement" without making any changes.
"All the possible changes and reforms inside PANM have been made, however no other party agrees to enter the PANM and become a part of. But when the change occurs, thousands of young people will enter the party", - said HAK deputy Aram Manukyan who held the congress.
According to him, taking HAK' "brand" the extension process will be guaranteed.
Babken Ararktsyan tried to get clarification whether he will become a member of the National Congress Party (HAK) if PANM changes its name to HAK. The secretary of the congress Samvel Abrahamyan said that yes, he would automatically become a HAK member.
Babken Ararktsyan shook his shoulders and sat down.
