Vladimir Karapetyan, a senior member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK), believes that presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian had a landslide victory in numerous precincts during the sixth presidential election in Armenia on February 18, 2013.

However, he finds it pointless to speak about Hovannisian's victory as long as the Central Election Commission has not recognized the candidate's victory.

Asked whether HAK is likely to join Raffi Hovannisian's struggle against the fraudulent elections, given HAK's refusal to run in the February 18 vote in order not to participation in the legitimatization of the pre-rigged elections, Mr Karapetyan said, "Let's wait for Raffi's actions and hear his address during today's rally. Our future actions will depend on his steps," said Mr Karapetyan.

The HAK official considers immoral the statements that February 18 elections were held in accordance with democratic standards.

"The violations were repeated. They were widespread especially at those polling stations where the President won with the ratio 80/20," said Mr Karapetyan who was standing proxy for presidential candidate Hrant Bagratyan in the Monday vote.
