Exit poll shows Sargsyan winning in first round
Baltic Surveys/The Gallup Organization and Armenian Sociological Association issued the results of the exit poll conducted by the order of Armnews television.
Some 19.130 citizens were interviewed after leaving polling stations. The survey covered 122 polling stations in Yerevan and ten marzes.
The results of the exit poll suggest that the votes were cast as follows;
Serzh Sargsyan- 58%
Raffi Hovannisian-32%
Hrant Bagratyan- 3%
Paruyr Hayrikyan-3%
Andrias Ghukasyan - 1%
Arman Melikyan - 1%
Vardan Sedrakyan - 1%
Seven candidates are running in the Monday election: chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, Heritage party chairman Raffi Hovannisian, leader of Freedom party, former prime minister Hrant Bagratyan, former foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arman Melikyan, Chairman of the National Self-Determination Union party Paruyr Hayrikyan, Radio Hay director Andrias Ghukasyan and epos expert Vardan Sedrakyan.
