Zovuni Head: I did not 'guide' anyone
The head of Zovuni village in Armenia dismisses the reports about his ‘guiding' his villagers to polling stations and making them vote for the candidate of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Serzh Sargsyan.
Serzhik Avetisyan says he left the house only once to vote in the Monday election and has not directed anyone in his choice.
Earlier, spokesperson for the Heritage party Hovsep Khurshudyan presented to reporters a number of violations they had registered in different polling stations. In particular, the Heritage representative said that election bribe was being distributed by heads of Karadzor and Tchotchkan villages in Lori marz, Nazrvan and Ohanavan (Aragatsotni marz), Akhpradzor (Gherakunik) and Zovuni (Kotayk).
"I am not aware of any election bribe. How could I take voters to polling stations if I stayed at home all day long? Go and ask commission members if you do not believe me. These are false reports," said Serzhik Avetisyan, Head of Zovuni village.
