Levon Ter-Petrosyan casts ballot at Precinct 9/11
Armenia's first President, leader of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Ter-Petrosyan cast his ballot at 9/11 polling station. Incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan and his wife Rita Sargsyan also cast their ballots at the same polling station earlier in the day.
The first President came to the polls without his family.
In conversation with A1+, Levon Ter-Petrosyan said he had voted for the Republic of Armenia.
To the question whether he saw worthy candidates on the ballot paper, the country's first leader said smiling, "All of them are worthy candidates."
Ter-Petrosyan said he was ready to vote for all the seven candidates but the law doesn't allow it.
Regarding HAK activists' call to invalidate the ballot papers, Mr ter-Petrosyan said it is not a violation of law.
Seven candidates are running in the Monday election: chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, Heritage party chairman Raffi Hovannisian, leader of Freedom party, former prime minister Hrant Bagratyan, former foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arman Melikyan, Chairman of the National Self-Determination Union party Paruyr Hayrikyan, Radio Hay director Andrias Ghukasyan and epos expert Vardan Sedrakyan.
