Aram Harutyunyan calls for snap elections
Yesterday was the last day for presidential contenders to submit withdrawal letters with the Central Election Commission. "Those presidential candidates who didn't withdraw their candidacies actually joined Serzh Sargsyan," said Aram Harutyunyan who has already withdrawn from the presidential race.
He calls on the other presidential candidates to join him and to stop the campaign, leaving Serzh Sargsyan alone on the ballot papers.
Aram Harutyunyan says at this moment political cleansing is dunderway in the political domain. He is convinced that Paruyr Hayrikyan, Raffi Hovhannisyan and Hrant Bagratyan remaining in the list of the presidential candidates will appear next to Artashes Geghamian, Vazgen Manukyan and Arthur Baghdasaryan.
Mr Harutyunyan that even today he is included in the list of top three candidates and in case of participating in the elections he would poll a lot of votes though his party has 5,000 members.
He says the main problem of the upcoming presidential elections will be the obligatory participation since the authorities will have to take many people to the polls.
Aram Harutyunyan believes that in order to build a new Armenia the coutry should call early parliamentary elections, with the opposition polling majority of votes.
