Vartan Oskanian: What happened is horrific and deplorable
Armenia's ex-foreign minister, lawmaker of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Vartan Oskanian today visited presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan who today underwent surgery following yesterday's shooting in a Yerevan street.
Mr Oskanian was accompanied by members of his party. After the visit he left a message on his Facebook acount, sharing his impressions.
"We arrived at the hospital when Hayrikyan was being brought out of the operating room. He was asleep, and we could not talk to him. I wish Hayrikyan quick recovery. Doctors assured us that the operation was successful and Hayrikyan's life is not endangered," writes Oskanian.
"What happened is horrific and deplorable. A person that loves Armenia a bit would never allow such a thing happen because it first of all tarnishes the reputation of our nation and our country," he continues.
When speaking about the crime versions one should me cautious and wait for law enforcement bodies to do their work," reads the message.
