Free Democrats: This was challenge to all forces
The Free Democrats party condemns the assassination attempt on presidential candidate, Chairman of the National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan.
"This is, first of all, a blow to the Armenian statehood and a challenge to all forces that are fighting for the establishment of democracy in the country.
It is not accidental that the assassination attempt was made against a person who greatly contributed to the country's independence and democracy," the party said in a statement released on Friday.
The Free Democrats party calls on law enforcement authorities to immediately start a fair and prompt investigation of the shooting incident and extends its support for Paruyr Hayrikyan.
