BHK expresses support for Paruyr Hayrikyan
The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) expresses its deep concerns over the recent assassination attempt on presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan.
"We express our support for Hayrikyan. We also expect law enforcement authorities to instigate a speedy and effective investigation into the incident," BHK said in a statement released on Friday.
Paruyr Hayrikyan, Chairman of the National Self-Determination Union, who is running in February's presidential election in Armenia, was shot late Thursday evening in Tpagrichner street in Yerevan's Kentron Administrative District.
Hayrikyan received a gunshot wound in his right collarbone. Doctors say the wound is not life-threatening. Hayrikyan is now in Grigor Lusavorich medical center where he will undergo surgery later Friday.
