CEC to convene special session Jan 25
The Central Election Commission of Armenia convenes an extraordinary meeting at 5.00 p.m. January 25 to discuss issues connected with precinct election commissions.
The political parties and alliances represented in the Armenian National Assembly were given time until January 24, 2013, to submit their members' appointment bids in corresponding precinct election commissions. The CEC received the required documents by the specified deadline.
The Heritage Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaksutyun) and the Armenian National Congress (HAK) have not appointed members in correspondingly 65, 51 and 457 commissions.
The Rule of Law Party (OEK), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) have representatives in all precinct election commissions.
Of the 15,904 positions announced initially in 1988 precinct election commissions, some 15,331 have been filled so far. The vacancies will be filled within the timeline and under the procedures envisaged by the Electoral Code.
