Hovhannes Igityan, a member of the Pan-Armenian National Movement (HHSh), is surprised to hear that [incumbent president] Serzh Sargsyan will likely receive 75 percent of votes in February's presidential election.

"It is impossible that the 75 percent of the public [they are speaking about] like corruption, illegality, obscenity and illiteracy that exist at the National Assembly and inside the Republican Party of Armenia," he said.

"The Sargsyan administration knows perfectly well what the public wants today," Igityan's opponent, a lawmaker of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), Artak Zakaryan said in reply. "If everything is so bad, why doesn't the opposition participate in the election?"

The HHK MP hurried to comfort all those who have been left without an opposition candidate. "The government will always stand by your side," he said.

Artak Zakaryan predicts perfect elections for Armenia while Hovhannes Igityan says the president will be elected by oligarchs through bribery.

The HHSh representative does not agree with the opinion that the presidential candidates are playing into the hands of the incumbent president. "At least, Raffi Hovannisian (Heritage Party) and Hrant Bagratyan (Armenian National Congress) will create obstacles for the ruling regime," he said.
