A group of dentists are holding a protest action outside the presidential residence in Yerevan against the new tax policy. Before the New Year's Eve the State Tax Service warned the dentists that after the holidays they would have to pay extra taxes in addition to the obligatory taxes.

Dental clinics equipped with three dental chairs will have to pay AMD 60 000-100 000 for each chair, depending on the location of the clinic. Those having four and more chairs will have to pay AMD 48 000.

The dentists say that the changes will inevitably increase the prices for dental services which, in their turn, will affect the pocket of clients. Moreover, the new taxes may lead to the closure of many dental clinics.

A short while ago, several participants of the protest action have been invited to the presidential residence to present their complaints.
