Nikol Pashinyan: I am not going to run for president
Nikol Pashinyan, a lawmaker of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK), today reiterated that he had no intention to stand for president.
"Declaring my candidacy would mean sending a message to the public that I am ready to take over power and I believe that my tenure of office will only give positive results. But today I am not ready to send such a message. As soon as I am ready for it, I shall take the political move," Azatutyun radio station quoted the HAK MP as saying.
Nikol Pashinyan said that he has not taken a final decision concerning which of the candidates he would back during the election.
"It is not honest to go to a citizen and ask him to vote for a candidate who has no chances to be elected. Armenian citizens deserve honest and fair treatment," he said.
