Political scientiss: Age is pretext, not reason
Political scientist Levon Shirinyan says the decision of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) to withdraw from the political processes led to the fiasco and collapse of the opposition.
"The political domain is deadlocked," Mr Shirinyan told reporters on Friday.
The political scientist libels the decision of the BHK, Armenian National Congress (HAK) and Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) to withdraw from the political race as ‘a retreat song.' "They are smashed and defeated but they continue to tell about their success. It is not shameful to confess one's mistakes and defeat." he said laying the blame on the leaders of the aforesaid parties who failed to develop a strategy and participate in the election.
"He [Levon Ter-Petrosyan] knew that he would be smashed but said ‘his age is the main reason for not running in February's elections. Why did he remember about his age in December? Age is a pretext, not a reason. In all likelihood, they have exhausted all resources and money to be involved in the race," said the analyst.
Armenia's first president, the leader of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Ter-Petrosyan] will become 68 in January.
