Hearing in Surenyants' case adjourned till Jan 8
A Yerevan court today adjourned the hearing in the case of political analyst Suren Surenyants after lawyer Karapet Galstyan asked for a week to get acquainted with the case material.
The court granted the motion, adjourning the session till January 8. The previous court session was adjourned as the defendant did not attend the hearing.
Suren Surenyants is accused of abusing the confidence of G. Ghasabyan and appropriating AMD 508.000 and is charged with Article 178 of the Armenian Criminal Code. Cognizance not to leave the country was chosen as preventive measure against Surenyants.
In an interview with Pastinfo.am, Suren Surenyants said he is not disputing the charges filed against him, but since he did not see criminal element in the case, he believes that the investigator of the Arabkir police department acted unlawfully.
