Republican MP Mher Sedrakyan has not apologized to journalist Mher Arshakyan for offending him at the National Assembly while the latter was carrying out his professional duties.

Mher Sedrakyan has issued a statement expressing his regret over the incident, at the same time deforming the reality.

Mher Arshakyan, a journalist of A1+ Company, is going to appeal to the Ethics Committee of the National Assembly. The Committee's decision will determine the future steps of the journalist and A1+ Company.

"I'm sorry for what happened at the National Assembly a few days ago. Yes, the respectable journalist managed to get on my nerves, and then carefully distort the reality, by mounting the video. But probably it is not important any more. Perhaps, this is the case when both the journalist and MP have to apologize to the public, especially journalists, the first - for violating the ethical principles for journalism and the second - for violating ethical principles for MPs. I sincerely regret about the words I said in a nervous state," Mher Sedrakyan said in the statement.

A1+ continues to claim that the MP's allegations concerning the mounted video do not correspond to reality.
Last week, Mher Sedrakyan threatened to break Mher Arskahkyan's jaw after the latter addressed him a question concerning the parliamentary debates on the composition of the Ethics Committee.

"Away with you or I shall break your jaw," Mher Sedrakyan had said without hearing the question.

Last week, about 160 journalists addressed a letter to NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan asking him to give a political assessment to the incident and avert repetition of similar incidents. At the same time, they expressed hope that the incident would receive an adequate response. The journalists also demanded that Mher Sedrakyan publically apologize to Mher Arshakyan for his ill behaviour.
