Will Levon Ter-Petrosyan surprise everyone?
The Special Investigation Service has started criminal proceedings in connection with the bugged private conversation between MPs Levon Zurabyan and Vartan Oskanian.

In the newly-wiretapped recording, Coordinator of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Zurabyan, and ex-Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian are discussing the possibility of fielding their candidates in the upcoming presidential election and discuss other issue related to the political domain.
Levon Zurabyan says he knows the organizer of the wiretapping.
"This is an apparent attempt to intimidate and discredit the opposition, which has been organized by the government with the help of special services," he says.
The opposition figure is convinced that the case would not be disclosed ‘in an oppressive and authoritarian state like Armenia.'
However, Mr Zurabyan is encouraged to hear strong condemnations by the public.
"Citizens have the right to hold private conversations without concerns or fears that they may be recorded by law enforcement authorities," said the HAK official.
Regarding the allegations that Armenia's first President will announce his intention to run in February's presidential elections during Saturday's congress of the All-Armenian National Congress (HHSh), Mr Zurabyan said, "These are only assumptions. It is up to Levon Ter-Petrosyan to decide the content of the statement to be made during the congress."
