Armenian, Swiss officials discuss bilateral relations

Political consultations between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Switzerland were held in Yerevan today. From the Armenian side, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan. The Swiss delegation was headed by Secretary of State Yves Rossier.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral relations. They hailed the high-level political dialogue established between Armenia and Switzerland and stressed the necessity of intensifying high-level visits and reciprocal contacts.

The Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister presented the progress achieved in the negotiations on the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.
The parties underlined the importance of further development of Armenian-Swiss cooperation, particularly the promotion of economic programs, cultural and educational exchange. Also, they discussed the opportunities of cooperation within the framework of the EU and referred to a number of regional and international issues.

Deputy Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia's stance on the Karabakh issue.
