BHK Spokesman: This is not the end
"This is just the beginning and not the end, or, to put it more precisely, the continuation rather than the end of Prosperous Armenia's activities," Spokesman for the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Tigran Urikhanyan said when commenting on his party's decision not to nominate a candidate in the 2013 presidential election.
Urikhanyan says the decision made by BHK Leader Gagik Tsarukyan cannot affect the party's current or future activities.
"BHK will continue to act on behalf of the people, present their interests and perform all the functions to better the quality of the upcoming election," said the BHK spokesman.
Asked whether the recent meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and Gagik Tsarukyan could have influenced on the party's decision, Mr Urikhanyan said, "I do not know anything about the meeting."
Asked whether the party will continue to join the initiatives of the Armenian National Congress or other political parties, the BHK spokesman said, "We are ready to cooperate with them if we do not have serious fundamental conflicts with these forces and if their initiatives are based on the interests of Armenian citizens."
