Men desecrating Symphony of Stones detained
Police in Armenia's Kotayk marz (province) have identified the men who desecrated "Symphony of the Stones" in Garni Gorge.
On November 29, the governor of Kotayk marz was invited to the local police department to give a report. Later, it was revealed that the men, who had broken and stolen stones from the historical complex on Nov. 29, were residents of Garni village, Felix M. (b. in 1989), Sevak H. (b. in 1981) and Jivan D. (b. in1981).
All the three were taken to the local police later in the day. They confessed that in October-November they had transported in a GAZ vehicle basalt slabs that had fallen from the complex to the grave of Jivan's grandfather for building a wall.
Investigation is under way.
On Thursday, media outlets circulated a video footage that showed men desecrating the historical complex in Garni Gorge.
