During today's briefing with reporters, leader of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction answered a question regarding the bloc's decision to appeal to the Constitutional Court over the foiled special session of the National Assembly.

The extraordinary session initiated by the opposition bloc on November 21 was not held because of lack of quorum. About 70 opposition supporters held a protest action in front of the Parliament building on the same day.
"To appeal to the Constitutional Court HAK has to collect the signatures of at least 27 MPs (one-fifth of the legislative body).

"Now we are holding consultations with our parliamentary colleagues. The petition should be well formulated. As soon as we are ready to address the Constitutional Court, we shall inform you," said Mr Zurabyan.

Asked whether the political forces present at the extraordinary sitting are undecided on joining the petition and that is the reason for their delay, the HAK representative said, "There is no delay. One or two days cannot be decisive."
