Leader of the opposition Heritage party considers himself to be the ‘collective candidate' who will be able to form a new government in Armenia.

"We are not speaking about a united candidate who is able to perform magic tricks. But if we see that the country is unable to get rid of this fatalism, I am ready to put forward my candidacy in February's presidential election," Raffi Hovannisian told a news conference on Wednesday.

The Heritage leader says his party is open to cooperate with all political forces in Armenia.

"I shall be glad to enjoy the support of different political parties and public organizations. The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and other political forces should decide the format of their participation in the presidential polls. They should decide whether they want to field their own candidate or support the candidate of the opposition forces," he said.

Speaking about his visit to Baku, Raffi Hovannisian said he would be glad to go there again to represent Armenia.
"Armenia should be present everywhere and be able to voice its viewpoint," he said.

Regarding his speech in Baku about the return of refugees that found deep resonance, Mr Hovannisian said he had expressed his viewpoint both in his addresses and interviews.

"It is not excluded that all refugees may simultaneously and voluntarily return to their birthplaces after the globe recognizes the independence and territorial integrity of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. I am speaking about Artsvashen, Shahumyan, Nakhichevan," he said.

With regard to people who criticized his statement, Mr Hovannisian said, "Instead of making cynical and sinister statements we had better combine words and deed."
