Minsk Group mediator: I am not a fortune teller
The OSCE Minsk group mediators seemed to have nothing to tell reporters in Yerevan after their meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian that lasted over an hour.
Igor Popov (Russia) disagrees with skeptics who believe that the Karabakh peace process has reached a dead end and there is no hope for the talks to continue in the future.
"There hasn't been any official report in this regard. Experts may say anything, you needn't believe everything," he said.
The international brokers are scheduled to meet with Serzh Sargsyan later in the day to present the results of their meetings. Later, they will travel to Baku to meet Azerbaijani leadership.
To the question whether the peoples of the conflicting countries can hope for the ‘breakthrough' in the peace process, the Russian diplomat said, "I am not a fortune teller to make predictions."
The next round of talks brokered by the Minsk Group Co-chairs will likely be held with the Foreign Ministers of the two countries in December on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial in Dublin.
