Archil Khabadze: Highway will be completed
Armenian Consul General to Ajaria, Aram Grigoryan, has met with Archil Khabadze, the newly-elected chairman of the local government.
Aram Grigoryan expressed hope that the mutually beneficial cooperation between the autonomous republic and the Armenian Consulate General would continue during the tenure of the new Adjaran official.
The intrelocutors referred to the construction of the Batumi-Khulo-Akhaltskhe-Bavra highway which is of great importance to Armenia. Khabadze said his country's leadership is committed to complete the project. The roadway is expected to cut in half Georgia's traffic communication with Armenia, thereby enabling tourists to visit Adjarian resorts more frequently.
The two officials also discussed a wide range of issues concerning the local Armenians. Khabadze emphasized the importance of the community's role in different spheres of the country's life. They also discussed possibilities of deepening cooperation between the sister cities of Ajaria and Armenia's Lori region.
