Sargsyan invites French entrepreneurs to start business in Armenia
During his meeting with French business circles at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rhône-Alpes region, Serzh Sargsyan asked them to come and start business in Armenia. He even cited the example of prominent Argentinean-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian, who was granted certain privileges in Armenia.
In his speech, Mr Sarsgyan noted that the volume of commodity turnover between the two countries can be increased in case they effectively use the Armenian-French potential in the sector as well as the economic opportunities of independent Armenia. Serzh Sargsyan left after the speech giving the ‘podium' to Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan.
And what could the latter offer to the French businessmen?
"I would advise them to study all sectors in Armenia as the country has a diversified economy and every French company can find the sector of its interests - be it food industry, pharmacy, information technology, etc," Mr Davtyan told A1+.
"Since France has a strong economy, they can always find opportunities for starting business in Armenia," the Minister said adding that French businessmen can start from making investments in chemistry and pharmacy.
Azerbaijanis stage protest outside Armenian Embassy
Serzh Sargsyan's official visit to France ends on Wednesday. After returning to Yerevan Mr Sargsya will leave for a one-week vacation.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijanis staged a protest outside the Armenian Embassy in Paris on the day of Sargsyan's arrival. As it turned out the protesters were not from France; four of the five vehicles had German license plates.
A day later, during his meeting with Armenians of Lyon, Serzh Sargsyan said that ‘the glorification of Azeri axe-killer Ramil Safarov proved that Nagorno-Karabakh can never be a part of Azerbaijan.'
"The liberal and heroic people of Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] cannot live in the country that patronizes xenophobia and severe crime," Serzh Sargsyan stressed.
