Opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) are likely to nominate a joint candidate during the 2013 presidential elections. HAK Coordinator Levon Zurabyan did not exclude the possibility after today's meeting with BHK representatives.
All other participants of the closed meeting refrained from commenting on the meeting.

"We have not discussed the issue of personalities. I do not want to answer questions concerning our meeting with HAK," said BHK Secretary Naira Zohrabyan.

HAK MP Nikol Pashinyan said he could not give details about the meeting as he did not participate in it. Anyway, he shared his opinion on the upcoming elections. "I do believe that HAK should field its candidate in the elections in the face of HAK leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan," he said.

Besides HAK, BHK also held a meeting with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun. The party already sees perspectives for cooperation with HAK and Dashnaktsutyun. In the evening, BHK representatives are to meet members of the opposition Hritage party. Also, the party has officially invited to a meeting representatives of the Country of Law (OEK) and Republican Party of Armenia (HHK).

"It is not time for similar talks. Today we have a much more important issue on the political agenda, i.e. organization of the presidential election at the highest possible level," said HHK MP Artak Zakaryan.
