François Hollande: Sides should resume Karabakh talks
The meeting between Armenian and French Presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and François Hollande, lasted about an hour. After the meeting the two men went out to the yard to talk to Armenian and French journalists.
"There are good relations between the two countries but I think that we should boost economic ties," said François Hollande.
The French President said that during the meeting with his Armenian counterpart, they focused on a number of issues, including the Karabakh peace process. As an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country, France is committed to do everything to resume the talks on the conflict. The two presidents also referred to the situation in Syria and Iran.
"Armenia is interested in deepening relations with France," said Serzh Sargsyan. "We are proud to have 500 000 Armenians living in France who equally love France and Armenia."
Serzh Sargsyan also thanked François Hollande for accepting his invitation to visit Armenia in 2013 on an official visit.
