An incident broke out during today's court hearing of the case of the four jailed opposition activists - Tigran Arakelyan, Sargis Gevorgyan, Artak Karapetyan and David Kramijyan.

Judge Armen Danielyan removed Tigran Arakelyan from the courtroom after the latter expressed his indignation at the judge's decision to reject all the seven motions filed by attorneys. Attorney Vahe Grigoryan also left the hall as a sign of protest. A few minutes later, the other two defendants - Sargis Gevorgyan and David Kramijyan - were also sent out of the courtroom. The fourth defendant, Artak Karapetyan refused to have the last word before the Court. Eventually the hearing was adjourned till Tuesday.
Judge Armen Danielyan is to read out the verdict tomorrow.
Passions are also heating up outside the court building, with supporters of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) calling for immediate release of the jailed activists.

Tigran Arakelyan, Sargis Gevorgyan, Artak Karapetyan and David Kramijyan were taken into custody after an August 2011 standoff with police officers in a Yerevan park and were immediately charged with hooliganism against a representative of law-enforcement body. They were later sentenced to 2-6 years in prison.
