Presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan is ready to pay Heritage Leader Raffi Hovannisan the required election deposit of $ 8 million drams to participate in the 2013 presidential election.

"If Mr Hovannisian agrees, I can take the money to his office and give him personally," Sedrakyan told reporters on Monday.

While declaring his intention to run for president, Raffi Hovannisan said he is hopeful to collect money by attracting donations from his compatriots and mainly supporters. Vardan Sedrakyan says he does not want the Heritage leader to be left out of the presidential race due to lack of finances.

Despite the great interest shown by reporters, Mr Sedrakyan refused to say where he could get the money. "I would not give any names. I collected the money from my acquaintances, friends and other sources," he said.
Speaking about the presidential elections, Mr Sedrakyan said he did not deem any of the presidential candidates his rival.

"None of the candidates offers a program competitive with Sasna Tsrer epos," he said.

Asked what he would do if he was elected the country's president, Mr Sedrajyan said, "I will dissolve the National Assembly and call for new legislative elections."
When asked whether Mr Hovannisian is going to accept the AMD 8mln offered by Vardan Sedrakyan, Spokesman for the Heritage Party Hovsep Khurshudyan said, "Where did Sedrakyan decide that Mr Hovannisian cannot afford to pay the money? If Sedrakyan gives up the idea of standing for president and decides to support Hovannisyan, we shall take the money."

Raffi Hovannisian said distinctly that the aim of the fundraising is to support that campaign, rather than to pay election deposit," he stressed.
