Republican MP: "Serzh Sargsyan is unmatched"
Even if Armenia's first and second presidents [Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocahryan] and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Leader Gagik Tsarukyan unite, they will not be a match for Serzh Sargsyan, Republican MP Mkrtich Minasyan told reporters on Friday.
"I cannot imagine their unity with their political ambitions but I say what I see: Serzh Sargsyan does not have equal rivals," he said.
Aram Sargsyan, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia (HDK), also believes that the opposition will not have a success in the upcoming presidential elections even if its leaders unite.
This is simply a way to consolidate political forces: after exhausting all other options they have decided to try this one," said Mr Sargsyan.
In his turn, Republican lawmaker Mkrtich Minasyan said that the proposal is a mere political intrigue ahead of the presidential elections.
