US Ambassador: Cold war is over
NATO or CSTO? Which side to choose?
The issue was raised again in Yerevan during the Armenia-NATO conference.
"The cold war is over, there is not any competition. Russia is Armenia's partner and I do not see any competition between these two structures," U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern said on Monday.
The U.S. official also touched upon Azerbaijan's regular belligerent statements, specifically the threats to down civil planes flying to and from the Stepanakert airport.
"The two sides should avoid provocative actions. There cannot be attacks against civilians. These threats are inadmissible for us," he stressed.
