BHK members hindering HAK rallies?
The position of the Chairman of National Assembly's Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment has been vacant since Prosperous Armenian Party (BHK) member Samvel Balasanyan was elected Mayor of Gyumri City.
At the suggestion of NA Chairman Hovik Abrahamyan, BHK faction Secretary Naira Zohrabyan introduced BHK MP Martun Grigoryan as the party's next candidate for the post.
While addressing questions to Mr Grigoryan, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan said he had discovered an interesting fact in his biography- Martun Grigoryan is the owner of Trans Akntart (Trans instant) Ltd - a company that had been preventing people from getting to the capital to attend opposition rallies since 2008.
"I have made inquiries and found out on Sundays and Mondays, transport means were overloaded due to heavy flow of passengers," Grigoryan hurried to answer.
Let us remind that the opposition rallies were mostly held on Fridays.
Heritage MP Zaruhi Postanjyan wondered whether Martun Grigoryan will support the idea of establishing an interim committee to study Teghut-related issues.
"I am waiting for a definite answer," said the Heritage MP.
"We shall discuss the issue with NGOs dealing with environmental issues and try to reach an agreement," was Grigoryan's reply.
Martun Grigoryan was later elected Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment with a 75/4 vote. Eighty-four people participated in the vote.
