Employees of the Cilivilitas Foundation today held a protest march, demanding to stop persecution against the Foundation and its founder Vartan Oskanian.

The group headed to the Prosecutor General's Office to give a petition-letter to Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan. They were carrying numerous posters and photos.
"We want them to understand that they cannot fool people. We all know that the charges filed against Cilivilitas and Oksanian are trumped up," said Arman Yarakyan, a participant of the protest action.

"The letter is addressed to Mr Hovsepyan and we are hopeful that he will receive it. We are going to send the copies to the government, president and National Assembly," said Seda Grigoryan, another employee of the Foundation.

Analyst Tatul Hakobyan is sure that the ex-FM is persecuted for political reasons to ‘rid Serzh Sargsyan of his potential rival [Vartan Oskanian] during the presidential election.'

"Serzh Sargsyan has serious problems concerning his legitimacy. I believe that in 2008 he was elected in the result of rigged elections. Today he is attempting to clear his way and get rid of all serious contenders. I think he will secure his re-election without perpetrating another carnage like the one we witnessed on March 1, 2008," said the analyst.

The group left the petition-letter and the signatures [collected in support of Vartan Oskanian ]with the employees of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The Foundation has gathered about 13057 signatures demanding to halt pressures against the Foundation and Oskanian.
