Galust Sahakyan: "It is their habit"
Serzh Sargsyan's rating is higher than that of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), says Leader of the HHK faction Galust Sahakyan.
He is convinced that Serzh Sargsyan will be re-elected as President of Armenia.
However, Mr Sahakyan says during the 2013 presidential election Serzh Sargsyan will need the support of all political forces.
The HHK official says ‘it is no use worrying about Robert Kocharyan's and Levon Ter-Petrosyan's nomination as they have not announced their intention yet. Besides, ‘it is unknown where they come from, who they come with and what they seek for.'
Galust Sahakyan does not view Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) leader Gagik Tsarukyan and ex-FM Vartan Oskanian as presidential candidates either.
"Tsarukyan has never sought to become an official and Oskanian is only aware of foreign policy affairs," he said.
Regarding the allegations that his party is confident of Serzh Sargsyan's victory in the presidential race, Mr Sahakyan said, "Yes, we are right to say so." He says as of the moment no one can compete with the incumbent president.
Asked why the party's "newcomers," including Artashes Geghamyan, Hayk Babukhanyan and Khosrov Harutyunyan are critical about the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Galust Sahakyan said it is their habit and cannot be changed so quickly.
