The event brought together representatives of the 77 members, including heads of countries, governments and foreign ministries. Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian represented Armenia at the summit. It was preceded by the session of organization's foreign ministers which made a decision on Oct. 11 to accept the proposal of Armenia's membership for the approval of the summit. On Oct., the OIF Summit decided to accept Armenia as a full member in the International Organization of La Francophonie.

"As a full member of the organization, Armenia will be able to further reinforce and deepen cooperation with the other member states. Together with the other member countries, Armenia will exert active efforts to further consolidate the Organization's role in international arena," Minister Edward Nalbandian said in his speech.
