Deputy Minister advises Jhangiryan to wait a little
Deputy Justice Minister of Armenia, Grigor Muradyan, cannot say whether it will be effective to establish another committee in the National Assembly to look into the deadly post-election clashes of March 2008.
He advises Gagik Jhangiryan, an MP from the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) and the author of the initiative, to wait a little.
The deputy minister also expressed his satisfaction with the ad-hoc committee chaired by Samvel Nikoyan, ex-speaker of the National Assembly.
After today's cabinet meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan referred to the scandalous arrest of Vazgen Khachikyan, the former head of the State Social Security Service. The minister stressed that they had started radical changes in the sector.
"In a month, we shall invite you to our ministry to see the changes," he said.
Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan spoke about the ongoing layoffs in Yerevan State Conservatoire that have caused the discontent of the professorial staff.
"When a higher educational institution has an inflated staff, its activity becomes inefficient and unprofitable," he said.
