Geghamyan expects Oskanian to thank National Assembly
After settling accounts with local courts and winning in the Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights lawmaker Vartan Oskanian can return to Armenia ‘on a white horse,' Artashes Geghamyan, an MP of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), said while commenting on the criminal charges brought against Oskanian.
He says the ex-foreign minister [Vartan Oskanian] had better publicize in court ‘the arguments hidden in the drawers.'
"I do not understand his silence," said Mr Geghamyan.
The HHK lawmaker is convinced that the whole world will attentively follow the developments in the case.
"I cannot understand the hindering obstacles. I began to think that perhaps new election technology is brought into usage which is supposed to acquit Oskanian. He will be soon forgotten because, unfortunately, he does not say new ideas or make savoring analyzes."
Artashes Geghamyan urges Vartan Oskanian to ‘say all the arguments in the face of the prosecutor.'
"I do not want to remind that they can dispute the unfair verdicts [returned by Armenian courts] in the European Court of Human Rights," added Mr. Geghamyan.
Asked whether he was ready to apologize to Mr Oskanian, if the court assoilzied him the HHK MP said the National Assembly only helped ‘Vartan Minasich' to present his counter-facts in court. Moreover, he expects Oskanian to thank his fellow colleagues for endorsing the prosecutor general's petition to involve him in a money laundering case as a defendant.
