Heritage to vote against prosecutor general’s petition
Leader of the opposition Heritage party, Raffi Hovannisian, is convinced that the money laundering charges filed against Vartan Oskanian, an MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and founder of the Civilitas Foundation, are groundless.
"The petition presented by Prosecutor General [Aghvan Hovsepyan] is poilitically motivated," Raffi Hovannisian said on Monday.
The Heritage leader says his party is against the petition and will not participate in the voting.
At the same time, Mr Hovannisian said he had some reservations concerning Oskanian as the latter still has to answer a number of questions, including the March 1 events.
The former foreign minister [Raffi Hovannisian] proposes that Vartan Oskanian be held accountable on administrative charges if he is found guilty of money laundering charges.
