Armenian FM meets his counterparts in New York
On the sidelines of a working visit to New York, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with his counterparts from Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.
Edward Nalbandian and Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansur discussed the details of Armenian President's forthcoming visit to Lebanon. They also referred to the cooperation within the framework of international organizations and exchanged views on the developments in the Middle East.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Jordan, Edward Nalbandian and Naser Judeh, discussed the perspectives of expansion of bilateral relations. In this context, they attached importance to the accreditation of the Armenian Embassy in Amman, establishment of the Honorary Consulate of Armenia, as well as cultural exchange.
During the meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Minister Edward Nalbandian expressed his concerns over the ongoing clashes in Syria and the aggravating humanitarian situation, underlining that this causes damage to the civilian population, including Syrian Armenians
The Syrian Foreign Minister, for his part, presented the latest developments and the approaches on the mission of the United Nations and the League of Arab States on the Syrian crisis.
The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed that it is impossible to reach settlement of the crisis without putting an end to violence from all sides and launching a political dialogue that will meet the interests of all Syrians.
