Civilitas determined to continue its work
Civilitas Foundation is going to continue the work it began in October 2008, the Foundation said in a release issued on Monday.
"Four years ago, on October 1, we were celebrating the birth of the Civilitas Foundation. Now, four years later, we are again celebrating the holiday but this time, because of circumstances, outside the National Assembly. And we want to inform our MPs that the board, staff and founder of the Foundation are determined to continue the work we began in October 2008," said the Foundation.
The Foundation will be staging a protest outside the parliament building at 11.00 in support of Vartan Oskanian, Armenia's ex-foreign minister and founder of the Foundation. Last week, Prosecutor-General Aghvan Hovsepyan petitioned the National Assembly to deprive Oskanian of his immunity as an MP in connection with controversial money laundering charges filed against Oskanian and his Civilitas Foundation.
The National Assembly is scheduled to discuss Prosecutor-General's petition on Monday.
