CEC to strip Ruben Hayrapetyan of mandate
Parliamentary authorities of Republican MP Ruben Hayrapetyan have been suspended based on his petition to give up his parliamentary seat.
The Central Election Commission has received the application of National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan who earlier signed a protocol on early termination of Hayrapetyan's mandate.
The CEC will call for new elections in constituency N1 within 80 days, CEC Spokesperson Hermine Harityunyan told A1+.
Stepan Safaryan, a senior representative of the opposition Heritage party, Hmayak Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Union of Political Scientists, and journlasit Artak Yeghiazaryan, seek to be elected in this constituency.
