14-year-old boy does not go to school
Ruben Budoyan, 14, has not been attending school for five years. He has become a herdsman and together with his father and uncle he takes the cattle of Mets Masrik village to pastures. Ruben is embarrassed to talk about school, but whenever he recalls his school years he speaks in good Armenian. The family members state that Ruben did well at school. Ruben admits that he wants to go to school and dreams of becoming a lawyer.
Ruben's sister, 15-year-old Zhenya, does not go to school either. After writing the first two letters of her name, the girl stops in confusion.
Their mother Karine Budoyan complains of their grave social conditions and says they cannot even afford to buy clothes and books for the children.
