E. Nalbandyan: «Azerbaijan pretends it is raining»
Commenting on the Safarov scandal, British Minister of State for Europe used only three words: «We are concerned». He preferred to speak about Yerevan streets.
Minister of State for Europe David Lidington told Armenian reporters that he was impressed by the range of British brands on Yerevan streets
The British minister intends to open a trade mission in Yerevan. In his words, he has already talked with leading Armenian businessmen so as to explore the investment opportunities.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan reminded in the presence of the British minister that following the Safarov scandal, Artsakh cannot feel secure as part of Azerbaijan. He said that Azerbaijan is deepening the abyss between itself and the international community.
«But Azerbaijan pretends that it is raining,» Nalbandyan said.
The reporters asked the British minister how the Kosovo independence can be used as a precedent to resolve other territorial disputes. The minister replied that the Minsk Group views the right to self-determination as one of the principles for peaceful resolution. «Our country is in favor of using not only one principle, but the package of all the principles».
The spokesman for Armenian Foreign Minister did not allow the reporter of A1+ to address any questions to the ministers.
